Ancient God Magic
Ancient God magic is power before human freedom. It can reach Body, Time, Memory and Function at once, but its very completeness is the danger: the caster stops being the author of the act and becomes a vessel through which an older formula speaks.
Power Without a Human Author
The school called Ancient God magic sits above ordinary human combinations because it reaches almost the entire pre-human Cycle: Body, Time, Memory and Function. What it lacks is just as important as what it contains. It does not naturally include human free Will or Soul. The source therefore frames divine working not as a stronger version of spellcasting but as a return to an older architecture in which cosmic Function can act without asking a human subject what they choose.
Its active channels correspond to the primordial or distorted divine traditions preserved in later religion: Sun and Law for Apollo; wine, madness and later ice-associated interpretations around Dionysus/Gal'Terus; absorption and the Star around Cybele/Kebela. The operations are likewise broad: imposing radiant order and vows, producing ecstatic eruptions of genius or madness, or folding fields and forms into processes of absorption. These are not ordinary technical modules that can be reproduced safely by study. They are closer to allowing a primordial pattern to use a human body as an aperture.
The price is vesselization. The more completely the channel opens, the less room remains for the caster to remain a subject. Speech becomes "the god's speech"; personal intention is replaced by revelation, frenzy, command or appetite. The source explicitly says the school can strengthen many magical capacities at once precisely because the power is no longer being generated or organized by the human alone. Rare divine vessels can therefore produce miracle-scale events while losing the humanity that would normally decide what the miracle is for.
Aurelion's religious history complicates the school further. The forgotten elven triad and later human Triumvirate do not map cleanly onto one another; later names and doctrines may be distortions, survivals or political rewritings of older forces. That ambiguity belongs in Legends and theology, not in the mechanical core. Mechanically, Ancient God magic remains the same warning: access to more of the old world does not make a mage more free. It makes the mage more compatible with a time before freedom was the defining human advantage.
